The Vagabond

The Vagabond returned for Torchy’s taco of the month in April 2019. I created a pop-up book theme for the campaign, which included print, digital and video elements. The book elements were created in Cinema 4D with scripts to run the physical page turns and content movement inside the book. Some screenshots of the build , the POS artwork and quick promo video are shown below.

Creative South 2019

I just got back from Creative South 2019 in Columbus, GA. It was my third year to attend, and it definitely was the best one yet. It was great to visit with friends I’ve made through the conference each year and meet new creatives who were there for the first time.

Interactive workshops on Thursday with Chris Do and Dylan Menges were both amazing and really informative. If you’re a designer and/or creative business owner, you should know Chris and his work with The Futur. He brings a dose of reality and business knowledge to the workshop and ties everything together with positivity. Dylan’s work with Procreate is second to none and he provided a much-needed boost for me on working inside the app. I’ve been working with Procreate for a year or so now, but pretty sparingly for personal time in between work projects. Hope to get more time with it moving forward.

Talks with Jessica Hische, Dex Alexander, Chris Do, Cat Noone, Carolyn Sewell and Hank Washington highlighted the weekend for me. The giant stage set was unreal inside the Springer Opera House, and of course, the always hilarious Andrew Hochradel is the best emcee out there and did a great job again this year.

I also served on a review panel for students who were presenting their portfolios for critique again this year. I was able to meet with future designers from UCF, Columbus State, Jacksonville State and South Alabama and give feedback and advice on the display and presentation of their work. UCF professor Victor Davila puts the review together and it’s great that students are able to be part of the conference each year.

If you’re a creative, I highly recommend attending Creative South. It’s the best creative conference out there. Columbus is also a fun small town and perfect setting for the size of the conference. Mike Jones & company do a tremendous job putting on the event every year. 2020 will be the 10th year for CS, and it promises to be the biggest and best one yet. I hope to see you there!

MLB Takeover

I’ve been working on some baseball concept artwork in recent weeks. The designs incorporate city and ballpark skyline photography along with large scale 3D logos I’ve built. There’s sneak peak of some of the designs below, and I’ll be posting a new one each day on Instagram. More to come, stay tuned.
